love-1A Thanksgiving Blog about Love.

On these freezing days and evenings of winter I think about the pilgrims often.  Snug in my home with the fireplace going or the heat turned up I lie in bed and think about times past and how did they stay warm?  I think about their lives and the hardships they went through—all for a better life.

A very long time ago my father came to me and said “Lee-Ann..when I was growing up times were hard.  My parents had come over on the boat from Sweden with nothing but hopes for a new and better life.  Times were tough back then. They had to work really hard and life wasn’t as they thought it would be.  Love was putting food on the table and some clothes on the backs.

“We never grew up with love demonstrated through time spent together, love through affection and hugs.  All I knew and all I learned was  working hard and putting food on the table and clothes on your back.  This is what we brought to our family.”

Then he said something that changed my life.  He said “BUT you know different and you MUST live your life from this place.”

And so I do.  I show love, I live love, I demonstrate love and I hug.  I live my life from this place not only because my dad told me to but so his struggles and his parents struggles and the pilgrims struggles all for a better life realized.  It’s about love.

And so this Thanksgiving and these cold days of winter…I am grateful for the all those people that came before me.  And maybe life isn’t perfect and maybe it never was…but love is perfect, love is free and love is what I am thankful for.

Thank you pilgrims. Thank you dad.

Sending Love!

Lee-Ann

The words I have to say

May well be simple but they’re true,

Until you give your love,

There’s nothing more that we can do.

Love is the opening door

Love is what we came here for

No one could offer you more

Do you know what I mean?

Have your eyes really seen?

You say it’s very hard

To leave behind the life we knew,

But there’s no other way

And now it’s really up to you

Love is the key we must turn.

Truth us the flame we must burn.

Freedom the lesson we must learn.

Do you know what I mean?

Have your eyes really seen?
